The BA-5 Super Ruby is a more powerful version of the BA-3 Ruby that incorporates the features of the Piper PA-18 Super Cub.

 

This version differs from the BA-3 in its closed engine cowling and rounded rudder. The Super Ruby can be motorized with engines up to 150 hp. It is also equipped with flaps allowing short take-offs and landings.

 

Technically, the main difference with the Ruby is at the level of the wing which, in addition to the presence of flaps, is entirely built in metal structure like the original aircraft.

 

The Super Ruby is piloting the front seat.
