Exact replica of the famous Piper J3 Cub, the tandem two-seater BA-3 Ruby nevertheless uses modern technologies and its design is optimized using the computer tool and 3D CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor Pro and Dassault Solidworks systems. This made it possible to optimize the structural design and therefore to facilitate construction. ​

 

The fuselage of the Ruby is made of welded steel tube latticework (chrome molybdenum), which gives it great resistance as well as maximum aging.

The wing is made of wood (wooden spars and latticework ribs of Spruce sticks) then covered with canvas. ​

The empennages are made of welded steel tubes (also chrome-molybdenum).

The entire airframe of the aircraft is covered.

 

The BA-3 Ruby can also be declined in a military version copy of the Piper L-4H Grasshopper used during the Second World War.

 

The BA-3 Ruby can also be declined in the Piper PA-11 version, that is to say with a closed engine cover and the tank in the wing. ​

 

The bundle of plans and the accompanying documents allowing the construction of the BA-3 Ruby are available on order at the price of 499 euros. It comes with a backup USB key. ​
